‘A beautiful written piece effortlessly linking private and public worlds. –The Guardian’
Comments from the author of the play - Stephen Lowe
'Just wanted to let you and the company know the reaction of my family- apart from Tanya and Martha who never stop talking- the rest of them are not used to "theatre ways" and indeed are somewhat shy, but I met up with them the following day and they loved it, were deeply moved, as well as overwhelmingly impressed. That goes for me as well.
One of the hardest things to achieve in the theatre is what is called ensemble- that coming-together in a totally supporting fashion of diverse creative talents to create a unified piece. It's very difficult to define but an audience know when it is occuring and open their hearts in trust to the play and the whole process becomes something charged with a rare quality.
The Players including all the back-stage gang produced that on Saturday night and made me re-visit in a totally new way the piece. And it was a privilege to make that connection again. So thank you all.'
